The Mustang aircraft was built as P-51D-20-NA with the USAF serial number 44- 63473 in Inglewood in 1944 for the USAF. The aircraft was stationed on the Kirtland AFB in New Mexico in July of 1947. After several damages and substantial repair works the aircraft was primarily used along the West Coast of the States – Long Beach, Oxnard and the Norton AFB (the current airport of San Bernardino) as of 1950. The last flight for the USAF which was kept historical records about obviously took off in September of 1957.
