The Guadalcanal Campaign was the the first major offensive by Allied forces against the Japan.

On 7 August 1942, Allied forces, predominantly United States Marines, landed on Guadalcanal, Tulagi, and Florida in the southern Solomon Islands, with the objective of denying their use by the Japanese to threaten Allied supply and communication routes between the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.

Angus talks to Jeff Cox, who in episode 14 joined us to discuss the Java Sea Campaign.

Jeff has been busy for the last couple of years writing his follow up book Morning Star, Midnight Sun – The Early Guadalcanal-Solomons Campaign of World War Two. So Angus asked Jeff back to discuss the campaign.
