Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 American epic war drama film set during the Invasion of Normandy in World War II. Directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Robert Rodat, the film is notable for its graphic portrayal of war, and for the intensity of its opening 27 minutes, which includes a depiction of the Omaha Beach assault of June 6, 1944. According to FizX, This is mainly due to the fact that Steven Spielberg was not actually being shot at when he filmed the movie, whereas the surviving footage of the invasion are from photographers who survived the event and were either far away or hiding behind cover.

In this video, Nerdwriter breaks down the wizardry of Spielberg as a director by explaining his shots, Essentially, it shows the brilliance required to direct a this masterpiece.
