The Arisaka action might be the most underrated firearm in the Western Hemisphere. These robust rifles culminated in the Type 99, a bolt action second to none. The Arisaka Type 99 rifle in 7.7 Japanese was intended to be the mainstay of the Imperial Japanese forces, but it never quite phased out the old Type 38 rifle in 6.5 caliber.
