AN MP has made a renewed call to war veterans who served on the Arctic convoys to come forward to claim their long-awaited medals. Thousands of servicemen served in the convoys, which played a vital role in the fight against the Germans in the Second World War. But the convoys were never officially recognised by the Government until recently. East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton presented several constituents with Arctic Star Medals last year. These included Steyning pensioner Peggy Weeks, who received the medal on his behalf of her late husband Arthur Weeks. He had carried supplies to Russian ports in the Arctic Circle...
