EIGHT young men from one family who fought the Nazis and returned to tell their tales are revealed today as a true band of brothers. They followed in the footsteps of their father who left his family to fight in the First World War a century ago. Between them they saw action on land and on the high seas – from Dunkirk, North Africa and Italy to the Middle East. But despite the bravery of the Ricketts clan, just one came out of the war with any decorations. “Mick is the one who has the medals.
