First Second Books announced earlier today the publication of Omaha Beach On D-Day, the first book in a new series hoping to explore "iconic moments in World War II history" (from the PR). The initial work was written by Jean-David Morvan and Séverine Tréfouel, with art from Domnique Bertail - will be the first in a series of graphic novels about World War II. The photograph to be explored in this book is from Robert Capa's famous series taken during the initial stages of the Allied Invasion.
The planned series will focus on landmark moments from the conflict. The book will be set around a photograph from Robert Capa's famous series taken during the Normandy Landings on June 6, 1944.
