Richard O’Connor came very close to expelling the Italians out of North Africa, if things hadn’t distracted the British drawing away his troops, there very well could have been no Afrika Corps or El Alamein. Rommel and Monty would have had to make their names elsewhere.

In this episode I’m joined by Mark Buehner.

Mark and I got into a Twitter conversation lamenting how history had seemed to overlook the British General Richard O’Connor.

In lieu of that fact, we struggled to find an authority on O’Connor. We have taken it upon ourselves recount his exploits, and hopefully pique your interest in one of the war’s greatest and yet overlooked commanders.
