Descubierta nueva parte del conjunto subterráneo nazi Gigante (Riese) en Polonia

Un investigador polaco ha encontrado una parte, hasta ahora desconocida, del conjunto subterráneo nazi Gigante (Riese) cerca de la localidad de Walbrzych. Todavía se desconoce qué contienen en su interior.

Polonia ha descubierto un nuevo conjunto de túneles que la Alemania nazi construyó durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial cerca de la ciudad de Walbrzych, en el suroeste del país, según ha anunciado el investigador polaco Krzysztof Shpakovsky y recogido TASS.

Este hallazgo forma parte del famoso conjunto subterráneo que los nazis denominaron Gigante (Riese) y está ubicado en las montañas Góry Sowie, en la región de Baja Silesia. En la superficie descubierta, de unos 200 kilómetros cuadrados, hay un conjunto de construcciones multinivel, pero aún se desconoce qué contienen.

Shpakovsky comenta que: "Allí puede haber de todo: equipos técnicos, armas, carreteras y otras infraestructuras. Era un escondite enorme que, en caso de ataque nuclear, tendría que servir como refugio a los socios más cercanos de Hitler durante varios años".

Algunas partes del conjunto ya se descubrieron hace tiempo, pero los investigadores suponían que existían otros túneles y pasajes, con lo cual enviaron más expediciones a la región. No obstante, la búsqueda se dificultó porque los nazis habían bloqueado cuidadosamente todas las entradas.

El lugar del descubrimiento volvió a atraer la atención pública en agosto, cuando dos buscadores de tesoros anunciaron haber encontrado el desaparecido tren del oro, de la época de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, en el que los nazis supuestamente transportaban metales preciosos, armas y obras de arte. Hoy en día las autoridades polacas, con la ayuda del Ejército y de las tecnologías más modernas, continúan su busqueda en la región de Walbrzych.
